Bodies at faculty level

Below you will find a list of the committees at faculty level with a short description of their function and composition as well as the names and e-mail addresses of the student members.

Faculty Council

The Faculty Council is responsible for all matters concerning research and teaching of the Faculty and cannot be decided by individual institutes or the Dean alone. The members of the Faculty Board, i.e. Dean, Vice-Deans, Deans of Studies, as well as 16 elective members, six of whom are students, belong to the Faculty Council. Each faculty at a university has its own faculty council.

Study Commission

The Study Commission deals specifically with questions of teaching. For example, under its direction, evaluations of lectures are carried out by the students every semester (=teaching evaluation). Furthermore, the members of the Study Commission evaluate habilitants and applicants for a professorship with regard to their pedagogical-didactic suitability. Furthermore, the Study Commission is to make "Recommendations for the further development of subjects and forms of study ... develop" . Faculty A has a joint Study Commission, in addition there is a Study Commission AB. Members are: 4 professors, 2 representatives of the academic staff and 4 students. The Study Commission is headed by the Dean of Studies.

Examination board

There is an examination board for each course of study at Hohenheim. Its task is to monitor compliance with the examination regulations. It also decides on applications, for example, if students wish to take a 2nd repeat examination or need an extension of the deadline for submitting the diploma thesis/Master thesis. Members are 5 persons of the full-time academic staff (professors + mid-level academic staff), of which at least 3 professors and one student member with an advisory vote.

Internship committee

Since a pre-study internship is required for the B.Sc/M.Sc. programme in agricultural sciences, there is a special committee for this. Here, recommendations for the further development or modification of the existing internship regulations are discussed. The members come from Faculty A, there are 4 professors, 4 students and the head of the internship office.
