Student council - What is that?

Student council is a word from university life. It usually refers to the representation of the interests of students following a particular course of study.
In the broadest sense the student council can be compared to a secondary school pupils' council (SMV) or a work council. At any rate, the student council only represents students taking a particular course of study at a university - not all students, therefore.

The Joint Student Representative Council, the GeFa in its abbreviated form, represents the interests of all students at Hohenheim Gemeinsame Fachschaftsrat, kurz GeFa.

Members of the Student Representative

The University Act of the state of Baden-Württemberg sets forth that the student council of a course of study can only consist of six people: elected student members of the Student Representative Council.

However, we students manage things differently: for us each student reading Agricultural Sciences is also a member of the student council and can therefore participate in student council meetings and express his opinion or concerns, desires or problems in this forum.
